Our new syncroDetect wireless alarm systems seamlessly integrates the power of our remote video monitoring platform with intrusion detection alarms. How did we achieve this? By utilizing cutting edge wireless alarm technology, in tandem with Door & Window contact sensors that have been designed to perform in both indoor and outdoor environments; whether it’s deployed on a bustling construction site, oil field, auto dealership, or commercial property.

What are Door & Window Contact Sensors?

Most people have or are at least aware of what an alarm system is, but what are some of the moving parts that bring it all together? One of the devices we deploy are door and window contact sensors. Essentially, these sensors are a two-part magnetic connection. One part of the device is installed on the door/window while the other part on the adjacent wall. When closed, the magnet device is connected. Once the door or window opens and the magnet is disconnected, the device will instantaneously notify our UL Certified Monitoring Center of the breach.

Advantages of the syncroDetect Wireless Door & Window Contact Sensors:

The magnet contact sensor technology isn’t exactly a new concept, but the devices integrated into our syncroDetect system have multiple advantages over others on the market. Firstly, the encasing around the device has an IP66 rating, which means it is protected from solid objects such as dust, sand, and other light debris. IP66 rated enclosures are also tested to be resistant to high-pressure water jets, proving the device can withstand any normally occurring water exposure such as rain, direct water spray, and splashing. In addition to its environmental protection rating, the device boasts a battery life that can last up to 5 years under normal operating conditions. This completely eliminates the need for constant battery checks, and routine service calls for battery changes.
Another key feature of the device is that it can be placed up to 2km away from the syncroDetect unit, without the need of any wired connections. This provides syncroDetect the ranges required for monitoring the critical areas of any site.
Furthermore, our engineering team integrated a door & window contact sensor with a larger than average magnetic gap. Having a larger magnetic gap makes the sensor less sensitive to rumbling and movement of the door/window, without minimizing its effectiveness when the door/window is breached. This in-turn significantly decreases the amount of false alarms from wind, animals, and other common disturbances.

How does the Door & Window Contact Sensor work with syncroDetect?

Once the window/door sensors are tripped, they will automatically send a signal to the syncroDetect unit, which instantaneously alerts the operators at our UL Certified Monitoring Center. From there, our team works diligently with the rest of our proprietary technology to address the situation and respond accordingly. These actions can include issuing voice commands, alerting any company personnel, on-site security team, or contacting local law enforcement when necessary. Once the situation has been resolved, our monitoring operators provide a detailed log report of the incident in our SyncroReports information portal for the client to review.

In Conclusion:

The door and window contact sensors, in tandem with SyncroDetect and our remote video monitoring units, create another robust system used by our team to achieve total security for our clients.
