Wednesday May 10th, 2023, is National Third Shift Workers Day. Every year, the 2nd Wednesday in May is a day to recognize and appreciate the people who work through the night to keep our businesses and communities safe.
We live in a world that never shuts down. Many businesses, from construction sites to distribution centres & manufacturing facilities, operate on a 24/7 hour schedule that requires people who will work the long hours of the night when the rest of the population is asleep, also known as Third Shift Workers.
National Third Shift Workers Day was created to acknowledge the dedicated people who keep businesses running, hospitals staffed, and our communities safe. Third shift workers are an essential part of keeping businesses of all kinds running, and we most definitely owe them a debt of gratitude.
How can we observe National Third Shift Workers Day?
On this day, there are many ways we can observe and recognize the hard working people who work these important shifts:
Leave a token of appreciation on their desk to show them we value their efforts and dedication to keeping businesses running.
Understand that they operate on a different schedule – if you don’t hear back from a third shift worker right away.
Respect their hours and need for sleep at different times.
How do our third shift workers help to keep sites secure?
Here at Caliber, we’re proud to have a talented and dedicated Live Video Monitoring Team who provide security monitoring services that are second to none. When everyone else has gone to sleep, they are working diligently to keep properties and assets safe from crime.
After Hours Video Monitoring
Many industries including construction sites, distribution warehouses, and auto dealerships need a security solution that can protect their assets overnight and after hours – when there is less activity on site and criminals are more likely to strike.
Our Live Remote Video Monitoring team are there to keep an eye on your site from our UL Certified Video Monitoring Centre – whether it be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or just during the overnight and weekend hours; they are highly engaged and trained to help safeguard properties and the important assets within them. When they detect someone is attempting to trespass on the site, they will first issue deterrents such as activating high-intensity LED strobe lights or issuing proactive voice commands, and if the situation escalates they will dispatch police, if necessary.
Security Log Reports
Through our proprietary syncroReports platform, clients can tap into the security details for their site and view log reports written by our Live Remote Video Monitoring team. When there is an occurrence on site, our team will draft a log of all the pertinent information that then immediately available for clients to view.
Our Monitoring team have a keen eye for detail and work together to help keep sites safe from crime, making all the information available through syncroReports. When employees of businesses have gone home for the night, our Live Remote Video Monitoring team are keeping a vigilant watch over properties and assets.
Paying Attention to the Details
Our Live Remote Video Monitoring team are all about the details, and there are many ways our proprietary technology assists them in keeping watch.
Our Video Security Unit utilizes two stationary cameras that establish perimeter coverage on a site, and a high resolution PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera that allows our team to zoom in on the action. This data is transmitted to our Video Monitoring facility through our proprietary Cellular LTE technology; providing high resolution, court quality evidence that can be used to assist in police investigations – if needed.
Leveraging Artificial Intelligence
Our Live Monitoring team also leverages the power of artificial intelligence to assist them with keeping watch over properties and assets. Our proprietary AI technology can distinguish between live people and other objects which may be present on a site.
This allows our Monitoring team to focus on what’s important, making it easy to detect when someone may be committing a crime on site, and immediately issuing deterrents to keep them from taking further action.
