Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of today’s world, with efficiencies found in business, entertainment, & security – among many other facets of life. As systems constantly advance and become more powerful, adoption will too see rapid growth. This trend is not expected to slow down for years to come – with the global AI market size estimated at $119.78 billion (USD) in 2022, and expected to hit $ 1,597.1 billion (USD) by 2030. (1)

How is AI being used in creating digital content?

The introduction of powerful artificial intelligence systems has taken the internet by storm, with several developing companies engineering advanced tools that have, & will continue to change the digital content landscape moving forward.
A tool that has received a lot of attention recently is known as ChatGPT, launched in November 2022 by Open AI. This artificial intelligence model was designed to interact with humans in a conversational way, making it possible for the system to answer specific follow up questions, admit mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests. This unique model was developed using a fairly common AI training technique known as Reinforced Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), where human AI trainers provided conversations with both sides of the system (User & AI assistant), and then fine-tuned by ranking responses based on quality (2). This system has garnered considerable attention on the internet, generating a lot of buzz surrounding its usefulness in marketing content, and potential abuse in academic institutions when used in report & assignment writing (3).
Alongside text-generating AI has been the emergence of advanced art-generating AI systems – with many people utilizing them for personal artwork, social media profile images, & website content. These systems, such as Jasper AI, Lensa AI, & DALL-E2, can take user-generated text prompts to create completely unique digital images, or combine an uploaded image(s) (such as a portrait, environment, or object), and digitize it – with additional elements, themes, or objects being included from user-generated text prompts.

How is AI being used to help streamline businesses?

One of the most common instances of ‘customer facing’ artificial intelligence in the business world is the use of Chat-Bots. This technology utilizes a combination of machine learning & AI, alongside natural language processing to understand customer requests, answer questions, and route customers to the ‘live agent’ who would be best equipped with assisting them – based on their input. These systems are incredibly useful for businesses as they enhance customer service efficiency, streamlining interactions & processes. (4)
Another key use of AI systems in business, being widely used in e-commerce, are ‘Similar Items’ or ‘You might also be interested in’ queries. Through customer behaviour tracking, these systems present customers with products that are similar to the items they have already viewed on websites. These implementations can improve conversion rates, and increase the total ‘cart value’ for e-commerce transactions.

AI systems are also being adopted in business for:

Process automation to boost efficiency

Analyzing customer satisfaction

Using customer insights for informed decision-making

Uncovering opportunities for new products or services

Audience segmentation

How is AI being leveraged in Cybersecurity?

Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity has taken a huge leap globally, and is expected to continue on this trajectory, being valued at $13.29 billion USD in 2021, with an expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.3% from 2022 to 2030 (5).
As the global threat landscape has been changing rapidly, so to has the development and implementation of AI in cybersecurity: to detect, protect, and respond to these threats. Research has shown that with over 1.5 billion connected devices in North America, Internet of Things (IoT) devices are surging in popularity – with IP cameras and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices carrying a worrying threat profile, being targeted more often than other devices in the IoT space (6).
Artificial Intelligence & machine learning has lead a shift to the nature of which these threats are approached; by rapidly automating decision-making processes & inferring patterns from incomplete data, using information from existing security threats, alongside the newest threats discovered around the globe. By detecting threats that exhibit suspicious patterns, they provide a significant advantage over the ‘old-way’ – where a malware sample would be discovered, analyzed, and added to a list of threats manually by researchers at cybersecurity companies. (7)
One of the major advantages of these new cloud-based AI-driven cybersecurity systems that reaches beyond standard firewalls & antivirus software: they can be deployed on the router to provide additional protection on all devices within that network. This proves to be of importance to our security, as data has shown that roughly 50% of all connected devices do not have the ability to run antivirus software. (8)

How is our AI development advancing our video security capability?

The engineering of our own proprietary Artificial Intelligence system, which bolsters our remote video monitoring service, has been at the forefront of our development path since the inception of our company.
Significant advancements & benchmarks within this proprietary system are being achieved on a daily basis – further improving the accuracy & confidence of the results from our neural network.
Human detection has been the driving focus of this technology, as inanimate objects don’t commit crimes… people do. This ongoing development has brought forward tremendous operational efficiency & effectiveness, allowing our team to prioritize security situations & respond appropriately – based on severity or immediacy of need. This system has effectively improved our industry leading detection & deterrence rate of 98%, to an astonishing 99.2% – with continuous & relentless improvement pushing these numbers beyond what was initially envisioned.

Artificial Intelligence has taken business, entertainment, and security to levels of effectiveness once thought impossible. In most instances, the development of these systems will prove to be instrumental to the betterment of society, as a whole. As our team is continuously forging the path at the forefront of remote security technology, we remain committed to the advancement of our proprietary AI system –

to help provide a safer, and more secure future.
