Third Shift Workers make many sacrifices in their lives to ensure that the world stays operational and services are available after-hours. How does our dedicated Live Remote Video Monitoring team provide effective after-hours security protection?
The modern world doesn’t sleep.
We live in a world where many businesses have scaled up their operations and established 24-hour services – from service based industries like retail, to construction sites, oil & gas refineries, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centres. With the focus on 24-hour services becoming part of the norm, talented people are required to help these businesses run while the rest of the world sleeps – enter third shift workers.
What is National Third Shift Workers Day?
National Third Shift Workers Day occurs on the second Wednesday in May and recognizes workers who work overnight and after-hours to keep ‘around-the-clock’ businesses running, as well as ensuring essential services are provided, and infrastructure remains operational. The day was founded to recognize the many sacrifices these workers make every day – missing special occasions, important events, and holidays that many of us take for granted. They also sacrifice a regular sleep schedule, by working during the night hours, in service of businesses and the community at large. Third shift workers are an essential part of our workforce, working tirelessly while the rest of the world sleeps. (1)

How do our third shift workers provide proactive security after-hours?
Artificial Intelligence detects and deters criminals
Artificial intelligence has changed the way our Live Remote Monitoring Team detect and deter crime. Our AI platform will detect individuals that enter into camera view, alerting our Monitoring team to their presence so they can issue proactive deterrents. AI distinguishes human movement and activity from other objects that are present on-site.
Our Video Security Units are a robust after-hours security solution
Our Monitoring team are trained to pay attention to the details. They do so through utilizing our Video Security Units to surveil and protect sites – utilizing two stationary cameras to establish perimeter protection and situational awareness. A dedicated PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera helps to drill in on important details in high-resolution. Each unit that is setup is wirelessly connected by our proprietary cellular LTE+ platform, without the need for wired Internet solutions.
All images and data are securely transmitted over our MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) network, back to our UL Certified Monitoring Facility.
Live Remote Video Monitoring for after-hours protection
Many sites require after-hours protection that can keep them secure when workers have gone home or there is less activity on-site. Our Live Remote Video Monitoring team are there for 24/7 protection when required, or during standard overnight and weekend hours. When they detect someone within camera view, they will issue proactive deterrents such as loud, authoritative voice commands, and activate bright LED strobe lights to deter criminals from acting. If they don’t desist, Police will be dispatched to the scene. Our Live Remote Video Monitoring team are dedicated professionals who are there when you need them.
syncroReports is a full suite of security reporting
Our Monitoring team are diligent in documenting incidents that occur during the hours outlined for protection on-site. All incidents are logged and fully detailed in Log Reports, available through our proprietary reporting platform, syncroReports. When you wake up, these detailed reports will be ready to view so you obtain a complete picture of what occurred overnight.
Our trusting collaboration with other Third Shift Workers
Our Monitoring team collaborate with third shift workers from other organizations & public services on a nightly basis. If criminals don’t respond to our proactive deterrents, if fire is spotted, or if an individual is in need of help, our team will coordinate with Police, Fire Departments, and Emergency Medical Services to dispatch First Responders when the situation calls for it. Together, they provide effective protection for businesses and the community – diligently keeping watch and responding to incidents in real-time, while the rest of the world sleeps.
Our Live Remote Video Monitoring are dedicated third-shift professionals who are entrusted with protecting a variety of properties in a multitude of industries. On Third Shift Workers Day, we show our gratitude for the sacrifices they make every day to help keep our community safe.
