The security of a property does not just start and stop at the fence line. In fact, there is an entire “roadway” up to it.  To facilitate the tracking of the arrival and departure of all vehicular traffic on site, we deploy our license plate reader cameras. These high-resolution cameras are fully integrated into our live remote video monitoring service, and our very own, and Canada’s largest private license plate database.

When you hear the words license plate reader, you would think of a smart, capable camera that can automatically detect the license plates of vehicles accurately, and in real time. This is the exact way our license plate reader cameras operate. Traditionally, license plates were capture by scrubbing through pre-recorded video footage and manually listing down the plate number of the desired vehicle. While, technically, the plate number has been recorded, the potential to do more with this data is lost. To realize the importance of a true license plate reader camera, there must be an understanding of how ours work.

License plate reader cameras function much like human eyes on site. These cameras are strategically placed in areas where vehicular traffic enters and exits a property. Once they are mounted, these cameras will begin streaming video back into our UL Certified Video Monitoring Center.
When a vehicle is in view of a license plate reader, something unique happens: automatic plate detection. Our license plate readers relay the visual information of a captured plate into the brain behind our system: our neural net and artificial intelligence network. These systems will intelligently read the alphanumerical values of the detected plate and will then tag them with location, time and date metadata. Alongside this information, a high-resolution photo of the vehicle in view is stored inside syncroPlates; our searchable plate database.
Vehicular traffic on a property can occur at all hours of the day. Unsurprisingly, an overwhelming majority of suspicious and criminal activity takes place under the cover of darkness. While infrared stationary cameras can detect and identify these activities from taking place on the location, they cannot capture license plate information.
Our license plate readers utilize infrared technology that is imperative when capturing court quality evidence of a vehicle in low light environments.
Infrared technology allows our cameras to capture the finest details, such as the letter and numerical values of a plate, and relay them into our syncroPlates system for real-time reading.
The ability to capture license plates at night is paramount when securing court quality evidence of criminal activity, as this is the time when it is most prevalent.
Our license plate readers are designed to interface seamlessly with our proprietary license plate database: syncroPlates. This system provides total control over viewing and searching for license plates captured by license plate reader cameras in the field. syncroPlates has many benefits, including the ability to whitelist and blacklist specific plates arriving on specific properties.
