In 2021, we began to see the light at the end of the tunnel, with things seemingly returning to a ‘new normal’. This past year, we focused on not only introducing new security solutions, but also improving on our existing technologies.

The Numbers Don't Lie...

From the number of unit installations to crime deterrences, 2021 was a record breaking year for Caliber!

We tapped into an array of industries, from construction to commercial properties, all of which our video monitoring operators worked tirelessly protecting throughout the year.
When our clients’ needed us most, we were there deterring criminal acts of trespassing, theft, and vandalism. In total, our video monitoring operators issued an astounding 38,277 deterrence actions on our clients’ sites, which is a 355% increase over our 2020 total! Our operators also dispatched the police 584 times, leading to 317 apprehensions & arrests throughout the year.
Much like our monitoring operators, our service technicians were very busy during the year, with the department seeing a net increase of 47% in unit installations over 2020!

Our Technology at Work.

With all of these deterrence actions and installations, how are we able to keep track of our clients’ site security and provide them with insight?
Our syncroReports platform is the pinnacle of security information reporting; providing a user-friendly portal for accessing security analytics, live video feeds, and in-depth log reports.
In 2021, we observed, developed, and logged a total of 388,148 in-depth security reports for our clients. These reports included descriptions, timelines, insights, high-resolution photographs, and video of the events that transpired on our clients’ sites.

Similar to Canadian gas prices, our syncroPlates license plate database reached new heights this year. Through the deployment of our license plate reader cameras, we actively logged the vehicular activity on our clients’ sites.

In 2021, we captured and databased a total of 5,843,020 license plates throughout the year, bringing our database total to 26,326,158 since syncroPlates was developed. We are eager to see our database grow as it continues to be an effective security & project management tool for our clients.
syncroReports continues to provide transparency for our clients, showing the how & when of our security services. In line with our pledge to push the boundaries of the security technology landscape, you can expect to see some exciting new features and upgrades in syncroReports for 2022!

Pushing the Envelope.

We took security to new heights in 2021 with the development & launch of our wireless intrusion alarm system, syncroDetect. This innovative device can be equipped with wireless motion detection and door & window contact sensors that allow us to secure highly targeted locations such as sea cans, building interiors, and site trailers.
By deploying this additional layer of security in tandem with our highly effective remote video monitoring service, we are truly able to provide total security solutions for our clients’ sites.
The integration of syncroDetect into our existing cellular video monitoring platform provided a level of protection that was yet to be seen within the remote security monitoring industry.

The New Wave of Mobile Security.

Often enough, our clients require a short-term security solution that can be deployed at a moment’s notice. When we receive these urgent requests for coverage, we deploy our Mobile Security Units (MSU). These units are ideal for remote locations that may lack the infrastructure (power) needed, when mounting positions are not readily available, or when security requirements and coverage areas are continually changing.

Our mobile units can be deployed on site within minutes, and can be readily relocated to provide coverage in dynamic environments where security requirements are constantly evolving. In 2021, our Mobile Security Unit received a complete redesign that improved existing features, while adding a few new ones!
A new 3-panel retractable solar power system was integrated, allowing the MSU to operate completely on sustainable energy. When it comes to mobile units, stability is a key factor that cannot be looked over. We designed our new MSUs with a sturdy steel frame that is able to withstand on and off-road travel. For additional stability, our units are equipped with 4 outriggers that are deployed to provide a solid footing, while reducing camera shake in high winds.
Furthermore, a new telescopic mast was integrated allowing our cameras to be raised to a soaring height of 7 meters (23 feet). This new customizable mast gives us full control over the field of view of our high-resolution security cameras, to adapt to any environment.

From record-breaking numbers to new & improved security devices, 2021 was a year of immense development & growth for Caliber Communications. Our team will be bringing exciting new advancements to the world of security in 2022, and one thing remains certain:

We are the future of security, today.
