We would like to welcome Quinton Dube to our team as the Regional Sales Manager for Western Canada!

Caliber Communications employee Quinton Dube
Can you tell us a little more about your work experience prior to joining the Caliber team?
Previous to joining the Caliber team, I worked for 8 years at Phoenix Contact as the Southern Alberta District Application Specialist. Phoenix Contact is the world’s largest instrumentation and automation component manufacture. My other work experiences include my times as an overhead systems specialist, electrical, and even some special effects experience.
We are thrilled to welcome you as part of the team. Could you explain why you sought out the opportunity to join our team? What “sold” you on the position/what makes you the right fit?
What mainly sold me on Caliber Communications was the innovative and forward thinking technology; for example, the in house artificial intelligence has me totally nerding out.
What makes me the right fit? Firstly, I’ve spent my whole life doing this, I love people, I love getting to know new industries, and overall I want to do the best I can for the forward thinking side of things.
Given your wealth of experience in industrial automation and construction, how would you consider your aforementioned experience and skills as a benefit to our existing and future security clientele?
My various experience in industrial automation, construction, programming, and creative work allows me look and tend to clients’ needs from multiple different perspectives.
Did you have any previous experience with or have any knowledge of Caliber’s security video monitoring services? If so, what were your initials thoughts and impressions of how we are shaking up the industry?
No, I didn’t have any previous experience or knowledge of Caliber’s services but after learning about Caliber as a whole, my first impressions are that our goal isn’t to chase the industry… it’s to just be better than we were yesterday. From clarity of our cameras to our UL Monitoring Center, the way we are shaking up the industry is incredible!
It is a not so well kept secret that we are continuously pushing to develop new technological advancements, both via hardware, software and AI to set new standards for the security monitoring industry – what has gotten you excited, and how do you think this presents value to our clients?
Straight out- the AI is amazing. The system is a true effective learning AI that is capable through our training to do what it wants to evolve. For our clients, this means a smoother yet more accurate security experience with less incidents.
syncroReports – What are your thoughts on it?
I think it’s an amazing tool! In the years of doing sales and interacting with customers, I’ve learned that one of the things that makes a customer feel more confident with a service is the ability to interact with it. With syncroReports, they are no longer passive and waiting for a weekly security report, instead they are more engaged by being able to check on their security from anywhere, anytime. Instead of us providing security and letting our customers know what happens, we allow them to truly be part of the security experience.
No more standing on the sidelines.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself! What do you like to do for fun? A hidden talent that would surprise people?
Whether it‘s cars or Oakley sunglasses, I love collecting things. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys doing outdoor activities such as camping and fishing. My other interests include movies, movie props/special effects, building things, and overall just being creative.
What are your top three movies?
Ghostbusters changed my life when I was a kid and is the reason why I got into special effects… other than that I have a hard time picking my favourite movies because there are so many good ones out there!
