Name: Michael (Mick) Wilson

Role: Service Manager

What is your favourite place to grab a bite in Hamilton?:
Subway, to keep me svelte.

Why work in security?:
Because I know how annoying it is to have things stolen.
I like that we can prevent, deter and catch-in-the-act, those who seek to make a quick buck from someone else’s hard work.

What was your first job?:
Paper boy in my home town. First real job was the Royal Navy.

Take us through your average day to day at Caliber:
My day starts with allocating the day’s jobs to the technical team and covering any briefings/questions/logistic issues from the techs. I then carry out a health check of all units which will show me cameras/units that are down, hard drives that have failed etc. I investigate all of these issues and then raise service tickets for any that I am unable to solve remotely. I then calculate the most efficient routes for techs for current service issues and pass them all of the required information for jobs (addresses, contact details, fault description etc). I will be on the phone multiple times with clients, techs, seniors and colleagues in Sales and Logistics to co-ordinate service accordingly. Later in the day I carry out an afternoon health check to see what other issues may have arisen. I will also compose a daily report at the end of the day to let the Monitoring Department know what has been installed, removed and serviced that day. I go through about 4 or 5 cups of coffee a day and keep the office happy by singing along with all the 80s music on the radio.

If you could live in any TV home, which would it be?:
The Starship Enterprise.
