We are excited to introduce you to our new full stack developer, Roshan Shah!
Can you tell us a little more about your work experience prior to joining the Caliber team?
I had over 2 years of experience working as an intern both part time and full time, while I was attending school at Mohawk. I was exposed to multiple development languages and frameworks at IDEAWORKS. I was responsible for developing the whole flow and leading the team of other junior co-ops. Over the course of 2 years, I had been working on a complex health system – fixing bugs and adding new features. I had got the opportunity to work on very different projects involving Android & IOS app as well as desktop installers, and a full stack web application.
We are thrilled to welcome you as part of the team. Could you explain why you sought out the opportunity to join our team? What “sold” you on the position/what makes you the right fit?
I am always fascinated by technology and innovation. I researched Caliber prior to my interview and what really interested me to be a part of the team was the way our technology worked when compared to the other units built by competitors.
Given your wealth of experience in software development, how would you consider your aforementioned experience and skills as a benefit to our existing and future security clientele?
I have always been interested in software security. I am determined to make myself a better developer each day by ensuring I make the best use of my time in a way that can both enhance my skills and benefit the company.
Did you have any previous experience with or have any knowledge of Caliber’s video security monitoring services? What are your initials thoughts and impressions of how we are shaking up the industry?
I really never thought that security video monitoring services could go this far! I was shocked to learn about what Caliber does, and the patented technology it has developed. The systems we have implemented and the tools Caliber provides to its clients are very impressive. The best thing about being a part of this company is that I feel that Caliber provides security in an innovative way that no other competitor has ever thought about.
It is a not so well kept secret that we are continuously pushing to develop new technological advancements, both via hardware, software and AI to set new standards for the security monitoring industry – what has gotten you excited, and how do you think this presents value to our clients?
I think Caliber is the best security company and will continue to be on the top of the list when it comes to technology due to our hard work pushing the limits of both software and hardware. I am really excited about AI… It is great to be able to use our AI, and there’s no doubt that our computers are really powerful tools.
I think it is great software and I have been able to get a chance to work on it and develop some new features for our upcoming update. It is a great tool and I am sure the clients will love the upgrades!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself! What do you like to do for fun? A hidden talent that would surprise people?
Even though I do not watch sports often, I never miss the opportunity to participate in any friendly competition and I particularly like to play table tennis.
