We would like to welcome Shelly Gaudet to our team as the Office Administrator for our Western Canada office.
Can you tell us a little more about your work experience prior to joining the Caliber team?
My last job was in office administration, but before that I was a professional chef for 20 years. I made the transition into office admin because of the hours… working as a chef meant frequently putting in 16 hours days. I feel there is a lot of transferable skills from my time as a chef and owner to the office administration role, such as client relationship building, event planning and the ability to wear many hats.
We are thrilled to welcome you as part of the team. Could you explain why you sought out the opportunity to join our team? What “sold” you on the position/what makes you the right fit?
My former boss works here, so I’ve actually been following the company through her for about 2 years now. What sold me on the position is that I have been looking to get into the tech industry for some time now. Caliber’s innovation is constantly evolving and I see a lot of career opportunity and growth.
Given your wealth of experience in office administration, how would you consider your aforementioned experience and skills as a benefit to our existing and future security clientele?
Most of my career has been about building strong customer relationships. I feel that my experience and ability to connect with people will be an asset in helping build the Western Canada regions with my team.
Did you have any previous experience with or have any knowledge of Caliber’s security video monitoring services? If so, what were your initials thoughts and impressions of how we are shaking up the industry?
I didn’t have any direct experience with Caliber but have been watching the growth of the company for some time now. The Caliber services and products are so innovative and it amazes me what we can do with technology.
It is a not so well kept secret that we are continuously pushing to develop new technological advancements, both via hardware, software and AI to set new standards for the security monitoring industry – what has gotten you excited, and how do you think this presents value to our clients?
I think the technology is so advanced and has so many possibilities… that’s what gets me excited. Also the technology can be used in so many different ways. I don’t think there is going be an industry that we won’t be able to work with in some way!
syncroReports – What are your thoughts on it?
The information is at your fingertips! syncroReports is a very transparent way to see the value in the service we are providing. A lot of the time you throw money into services and you don’t know where it actually goes, but syncroReports allows the customer to see the value in what we offer.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself! What do you like to do for fun? A hidden talent that would surprise people?
My fun fact is that I used to be a rock climber… and I love to challenge myself every day and I’m game for anything… within reason.
